Method for Detecting Artificial Fish Reefs based on Sound and Light Combination Technology

  • In response to the problems of incomplete continuous tracking and monitoring methods and lack of maintenance methods for early deployment of artificial fish reefs, this paper proposes a method based on sound and light combination technology for rapid detection of artificial fish reefs while meeting the ecological benefits of the reef area. Firstly, a side scan sonar system is used to accurately locate artificial fish reefs in a wide range of sea areas, and then underwater robots equipped with multi beam imaging sonar are used to accurately navigate fish reef targets. Secondly, a red channel algorithm suitable for underwater image enhancement is proposed to achieve clear imaging of surface camera images of fish reefs. At the same time, sonar data is used to evaluate the density of fish schools in artificial fish reef areas, exploring a scientifically efficient, operable, and replicable method for detecting and evaluating the proliferation effect of artificial fish reefs. Finally, the national level Xiaoxingshan marine ranch artificial fish reef area with characteristics such as large water area, deep water layer, long construction time, inaccurate placement of reefs, and high detection difficulty was selected as the experimental object. Through the methods in this article, experiments were conducted from four aspects: periodic monitoring strategy, overfishing, aquaculture invasion, and proliferation and release, aiming to optimize the ecological environment of the artificial fish reef area and improve the proliferation effect of fishery resources,Establish safe, modern, and demonstrative marine pastures.
