Research and Application of the Growth Performance Measuring System for young Pig

Breeding pigs with excellent reproductive performance are the prerequisites for the pig industry to obtain good economic benefits. The selection of excellent breeding pigs must carry out performance measurement,and the key is to accurately measure the feed intake and weight. The commonly used growth performance measuring systems are mostly for the 30～100 kg fattening pigs, and the system of 6～30 kg young pigs in the nursery period is rarely studied. The nursery stage is an important stage of pig growth and development. This article mainly designed a growth performance measuring system for the young pig in the nursery period. The system can automatically record the identity information, weight and feeding behavior of each pig in the case of group breeding. The system not only expands the range of pig growth performance measurement, accelerates the development process of pig genetic breeding, but also can be used in precision feed formula analysis experiments to determine the best feeding plan, improve feed conversion efficiency and breeding economy benefit.
