Abstract: By 2020, all poverty-stricken counties in Guizhou, China, were lifted out of poverty and the problem of absolute poverty of the population was eradicated. Then we will promote the effective work of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and take the road of poverty alleviation and prosperity with Guizhou characteristics. Based on an in-depth analysis of the current situation of the effective connection between the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements and rural revitalization in Guizhou, it was found that Guizhou had made remarkable achievements in poverty alleviation, such as reduction in the incidence of poverty, continuous growth of rural residents’ income, remarkable results of industrial poverty alleviation, continuous improvement of rural infrastructure construction, and more effective rural governance. However, there were some problems in promoting the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, such as insufficient understanding of the connection mechanism between them, slow industrial development process, prominent shortage of grass-roots talents and weak rural infrastructure. In order to ensure better connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalization policies, it was proposed to enhance the awareness of the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. This included, accelerating development of rural industries and promoting rural revitalization with industrial revitalization, implementing a scientific and effective talent cultivation and reserve mechanism to activate the endogenous driving force in rural areas, and strategies such as improving the guarantee level of rural infrastructure in the connection process.
