Abstract: Air-assisted sprayer is the main orchard sprayer equipment in China. Given the late start and outdated air-delivered spray equipment in orchards, excessive use of pesticides, and serious droplet loss, the research status of different types of air-delivered spray equipment was introduced, focusing on the principle of application and operation characteristics. In addition, the latest research progress on the integration of air-delivered spray equipment and advanced spray technology in China, including the current advanced electrostatic spray technology, circulating spray technology, precision variable spray technology, and CFD fluid simulation technology was emphasized. The existing problems in the application of air-assisted sprayers in orchard spraying were analyzed. Suggestions for the development of air-delivered sprayers in China in the future were put forward, including promoting the standardization and mechanization of the orchard construction in plains and hilly areas, integrating advanced application technology and intelligent detection means to achieve intelligent and precise application of the air-assisted sprayer in orchards, and developing small-sized orchard sprayer models for hilly and mountainous regions.
