Abstract
Soil moisture monitoring has important practical significance for crop sowing, yield prediction, scientific guidance of agricultural irrigation, and improvement of agricultural water use efficiency. An integrated remote intelligent monitoring system of soil moisture is designed to realize the collection, storage, transmission, and application management of soil temperature and soil moisture content in this paper. The low-power transmission mode of Nb-IoT is adopted to transmit the soil temperature and moisture data to the cloud data platform through the MQTT communication protocol. The cloud platform data integrated management system is developed to realize the processing and analysis of soil data through applying software development technology. The system has GPS positioning and anti-theft function and adopts the common power supply mode of lithium battery and solar energy. The system has good expansibility: the type and number of sensors can be expanded according to the monitoring needs. The experimental results show that the data collection of the remote intelligent monitoring system for soil moisture is accurate and efficient, the data transmission is stable in NB-IoT wireless network, and there is no packet loss phenomenon. The average response time of data transmission is less than 1.7 s, and the corresponding time of data query is less than 1 s. The system is easy to implement and has good application scenarios, which can be widely used in agriculture, forestry, geology, and other aspects of soil moisture monitoring and experimental research.
