Design and experimental study of cabbage picking and conveying device

Abstract
In order to improve the harvesting efficiency of cabbage, a harvesting machine suitable for China’s cabbage planting mode was developed. Based on the measured basic physical parameters of the “Autumn Sweet” cabbage variety, a single-row hanging harvesting device that could realize cabbage picking and conveying was designed. SolidWorks software was used to build the three-dimensional model of the device and Adams software was imported for dynamic simulation. The simulation results of the contact force between cabbage and screw convex ridge and the verticality of cabbage swing during harvesting were obtained. The orthogonal combination analysis showed that the best working parameters of the device were as follows: the forward speed of the machine was 0.4 m/s, the screw speed was 300 r/min, the outer diameter of screw convex ridge was 70 mm, and the spacing for limiting displacement was 166 mm, the verticality of harvesting cabbage was the highest, the field test results showed that the harvesting rate and damage rate of cabbage in the harvesting process of this device were 97.6% and 8.24% respectively, and the harvesting performance meets the expected design, which provides a theoretical basis for the study of the prototype of the harvesting device.
