Research Progress on Plant-Derived Preservatives in Mango Postharvest Bacteriostatic Preservation

  • Because of its wide source, safety, high efficiency and no drug resistance, the plant-derived preservatives have a broad prospect in the research and application of postharvest bacteriostatic preservation of mango. In this paper,the plant species with significant effect of postharvest bacteriostatic preservation of mango were sorted out. The research status of the application of plant-derived preservatives in postharvest bacteriostatic preservation of mango in China in recent years were summarized from the aspects of the single use of Chinese herbal extracts, essential oils,polysaccharides, alkaloids, flavonoids and phenols and the combination use of multiple plant-derived preservatives.The problems existing in the preservation of mango with plant-derived preservatives were analyzed and some suggestions were put forward. The application prospect of plant-derived preservatives in mango preservation was prospected,which could provide reference for the plant-derived preservatives in mango postharvest bacteriostatic preservation.
